Flydubai And Emirates Might Come Together To Operate From Terminal 1 At The DXB Airport

There’s a very STRONG possibility that Emirates and flydubai could operate from the same Terminal 1—a move that comes after they expanded their commercial relationship earlier this year.

The two airlines released a statement in July that said they will be working together on an ‘extensive partnership’ which will see them codeshare, but still be managed independently. 

While Emirates exclusively uses Terminal 3, flydubai shares terminal 2 with other carriers

In fact proposals to improve connections for passengers by operating them both out of Terminal 3 is also under consideration. 

Dubai Airports Chief Executive, Paul Griffiths explained in an interview about the need to make a strategic decision about how the traffic distribution will work. 

What we are trying to do is see if we can get some sort of operating model established with them that will mean the infrastructure is shared on a more operational basis. We’ve got a series of proposals which hopefully before the end of the month will be evaluated and agree. Moving flydubai’s operations to Terminal 1, located alongside Terminal 3, is also being looked at, and the final solution could be a hybrid of the proposals under consideration.
