With each passing day, new EXPO 2020 excitement is unveiled and it’s almost impossible to keep up with the every-expanding EXPO site.

And today, there was another big announcement.

The design for one of the primary themed pavilions was revealed and it sounds epic!

The ‘opportunity pavilion’ is 4,500sqm in size and made from wood, rope and stone. It will be an interactive pavilion, with gaming and decision-making experiences, meaning visitors can fully get involved in the fun

This is the first of three themed pavilions to be unveiled

The themes are mobility, sustainability and opportunity and those pavilions will be located next to one pavilion per each participating country, (approximately 180) along with the central ‘Al Wasl’ pavilion.

(The scale of the site is extraordinary…it covers 600 football pitches in total).

The purpose of the opportunity pavilion is to ‘bring together people of all ages and backgrounds to celebrate global progress towards achieving the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.’

The shaded canopy will be made from around 111 kilometres of woven rope and 2,500 tonnes of stone will be used to complete the project

EXPO 2020 will begin on October 20, 2020 and run for six months.
