EXPO 2020: Construction Parts Are Arriving From All Over To Complete The Main Plaza
Construction of the EXPO 2020 site is well underway.
And while as residents we’re waiting to see what the Expo will bring and what it means for the UAE, currently countries all over the world are working tirelessly, gearing up to take part.
The showcase begins on October 20, 2020 and runs for six months straight.
This is the first time the World Expo has come to the region
The chosen theme for 2020 ‘Connecting minds. Creating the future’. The theme changes with each Expo, however each theme must be universal and applicable to all humanity. Dubai was awarded the hosting position of Expo 2020 in 2013.
The ‘Al Wasl’ central plaza is the main area
The total Expo space is a huge 438-hectare area, centred around the ‘Al Wasl’ (meaning ‘connection’ in Arabic) pavilion.
Further individual pavilions complete the area, either dedicated to theme or country.
In the last couple of days, the ‘jewel of the expo’ arrived by ship to the UAE.
