Ramadan Fridges Are Popping Up All Over Dubai (Again!) And Here’s Your Nearest One
The Ramadan Fridge sharing campaign was one of the biggest charity schemes last year.
The idea, which came from an expat living in the city, is a fridge sharing system where people can either donate fridges or food and people in need are invited to come and take as they please.
It’s a simple system that works and last year the people of Dubai sprung to action and it became a hugely popular way to donate during Ramadan.
This year, the initiative is back and Dubai Municipality are taking part too, as part of the UAE Food Initiative.
The Municipality has dropped 80 fridges
There are now fridges located at 38 mosques in Deira, and 42 in the Bur Dubai area, each fridge has a different sponsor, usually by a business which has been involved with the UAE food initiative in the past year.Â
