The positively dreary weather looks like it’s going nowhere, but this is Dubai and the show must go on.

Look on the bright side, the weather is still warm and you’ve got a jam-packed schedule of great activities to look forward to this weekend.

Whether you want to gaze at stars, catch a new movie or hit a racy dinner show… the weekend is coming and the line-up is LIT.

9. The Lovin Dubai Cruise will run for just three more weeks

Due to popular demand, more dates have been added and there is simply no better way to spend your Saturday, before it gets TOO hot.

Enjoy four hours aboard the Lotus Mega Yacht, complete with drinks, food, music, swimming, dancing AND a cinema room. Every Saturday, from 1pm to 5pm, depart the Dubai Marina’s Pier 7 and dance the afternoon away in style on board the world’s largest commercial yacht.

When? Every Saturday

Tickets start from AED199

8. Dubai residents: Brace yourselves for 7 at Skorpeus

This is NOT your average dinner show, and for Dubai standards, it’s pretty racy. Think burlesque boudoir-meets-bunker vibes, with a whole lot of entertainment to go with a five course meal.

Dancers in flamboyant outfits go between a stage and the audience and each mini-show throughout the evening is related to a deadly sin.

Find it in the brand new Emerald Palace Kempinski on the Palm – this newly opened hotel is a jewel on the Dubai hotel scene and absolutely worth a visit, even if it’s just to have a gawk at the seriously impressive hotel lobby.

7 at Skorpeus runs every Thursday and Friday from 8.30pm – 11pm and your ticket includes a five-course meal plus drinks.

How much? AED499 soft drinks, AED669 house drinks, AED799 premium drinks

7. Experience the King of Pop’s 45-year musical history at Dubai Opera

This kicked off on Tuesday night and the reviews so far are amazing. Watch the journey of the King of Pop’s 45-year musical history, with hits like ‘Bad’, ‘Thriller’ (duh!), and ‘Smooth Criminal’, brought to life by a group of talented dancers and a FAB stage set-up.

And in a rare deal, you can do dinner (at Kizmet!) and a show for just AED470.

This deal is ONLY available for the Wednesday (8pm), Friday (2.30pm) and Saturday (2.30 pm and 8pm) shows.

You’ve ONLY got ‘til March 30 to catch Thriller Live at Dubai Opera- make it happen! Tickets available now, get them here

6. There’s an exciting new restaurant opening at JW Marriott Marquis, PLUS a major foodie week

Restaurant Week at the JW Marriott Marquis is back and if you love five star hotels and major foodie experiences WITHOUT the hefty price tag, this is for you.

One of the world’s tallest hotels, the JW Marriott Marquis is bringing back its hugely popular restaurant week and it’s running from March 25 until April 7. From deals at laid-back sports bars to fine-dining culinary adventures, it’s got something for everyone. – More info here

But that’s not all. The hotel has also gotten a major new foodie addition. Enter: Masala Library.

This isn’t simply limited to a gastronomic experience but SO much more. The King of Indian Cuisine, Jiggs Kalra, has a created an amazing menu with signature dishes including a deconstruction of samosa, chicken tikka (prepared three ways), the Rajasthani Mutton Curry, and the Mushroom Chai and Jalebi Caviar- to name a few. 5. Make time for a movie night: The Professor and the Madman opens in cinemas on Thursday

There’s nothing like a gripping true story to reel you in and this thriller featuring incredible Oscar-winning duo Mel Gibson and Sean Penn does exactly that, telling the compelling story of the compilation of the first Oxford English Dictionary.

Based on the 1998 book `The Surgeon of Crowthorne’, Oxford professor (Gibson) and a convicted murderer and madman (Penn) form an unlikely partnership and you’ll be hooked from start to finish.

The Professor and the Madman opens in cinemas across Dubai on March 28- don’t miss it!

4. Earth Hour is fast approaching: Spend it stargazing at Hillhouse

Feeling this.

The world marks Earth Hour this coming Saturday between 8.30pm and 9.30pm when *hopefully people observe by turning off our lights to support efforts to tackle climate change.

The stars should be a little clearer on this night and Hillhouse Brasserie at Dubai Hills Golf Club is hosting a stargazing session. Pay AED150 for an unlimited sustainable menu and eat by candlelight. The venue will provide telescopes and a BBQ including rump steak, hot dogs, BBQ chicken, loaded burgers, grilled corn and jacket potatoes, with a selection of salads.

3. Hit a new Greek resto for a rustic Greek dining experience

Taverna Greek Kitchen has just opened on the edge of the Madinat waterways and it comes complete with stone walls, wooden fixtures with an authentic menu to match. Think Greek vibes through and through, this chic resto feels like it’s been lifted from a Baleric island and dropped right here in Dubai.

Plus, the food is incredible. It’s sharing style with classic Greek dishes Tzatziki, Taramosalata and Athinaiki or for something a little unique try the slow braised octopus with vinegar, oregano, onion, Salicornia and extra virgin olive oil. There’s an amazing fresh fish selection and do not leave without trying the Greek coffee tiramisu – DE-LISH.

Taverna Greek Kitchen is now open at the Souk Madinat. More info here

2. It’s your last weekend to check out the open-air art festival happening at Bluewaters

An art festival has launched at Bluewaters, the island located next to JBR, and it’s jazzing up the winter season as we know it.

Continuing with the hugely successful open-mic sessions from the Street Festival, the Open Gallery brings a mixture of art activities; from creating unicorn dream catchers (how fun is that?!) and canvases, to community art events and shell art fun.

There’ll also be improv nights, and live performances. Don’t miss it!

Bluewaters Open Gallery runs Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays from March 7 – March 30
