Dubai Based Former Editor Has Pleaded Not Guilty To The Premeditated Murder Of His Wife

A former editor-at-large for Gulf News has pleaded not guilty to the murder of his wife.

61-year-old Francis Matthew is accused of the premeditated murder of his 62-year-old wife Jane at their Jumeirah villa on July 3.

The former editor appeared in court on Wednesday to enter a not guilty plea in relation to the charges.

The case will resume on October 25.

Police were called to Matthews’ Jumeirah home in July. Matthew originally told police he thought thieves had broken into the house when he called emergency services, however he later confessed to hitting her with a blunt object.
