Today the world celebrates Diwali, the Hindu religious festival of lights by lighting diya, (lamps) hanging lights, fireworks, sweets, family meals, gifts and more. The holiday symbolises the victory over darkness and good over evil and is celebrated every Autumn.
HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai wished the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi a happy Diwali and asked those celebrating in the UAE to share celebrations on social media with #UAEDiwali
