With its posh lifestyle and a brilliantly high standard of living, you might think that the services pertaining to the general public in Dubai, such as the public transport, will leave a lot to be desired. Right? WRONG!

Driving, although, is the most convenient way of getting around in Dubai, the government has greatly improved the public transport over the last decade, and continues to invest in the development of the transport network within the emirate.

Here’s how….

1. Since it’s inception in 2009, more than 1 billion riders have used the metro so far

2. Speaking of which, Dubai is home to the longest driver-free metro line in the world

3. Where else will you get a metro station as breathtaking as this

This is the BurJuman station which is the largest underground metro station spread across an area of 25,000 square meters.

4. The RTA is also coming up with a new 15km Route 2020 Metro Link

The new route will extend from the Red Line of Dubai Metro from Nakheel Harbour and Tower station all the way to the Expo 2020 site near the Al Maktoum International Airport. It includes seven stations in total.

5. And things are continuing to grow at breakneck speed
