Why Dubai Actually IS An Incredible Place To Spend The Summer

Avatar

The summer is nigh and true to form, people are bolting for cooler climates.

But with so many people planning escapes, many of us are actually excited about the summer.

Yes, really!

Yup, it’s hot and yes it’s humid; but the city slows down, discount prices are EVERYWHERE, so here’s why Dubai is a wonderful place to spend the summer months:

Wave goodbye to traffic, tourists and (sorry) school kids

The mass exodus is good news for the rest of us and from now, the city is ours. Schools have finished up which means the dreaded morning traffic has dwindled, the malls are quieter and even the Metro feels less congested.

Tourism declines during summer too, so less of a push at your favourite spots… their loss.

EVERYTHING GETS CHEAPER

And who doesn’t love a good bargain?!

Top hotels slash their prices, (We see you One & Only Royal Mirage stay-cays from AED895), adventure parks slash their prices (and open later into the evening too) along with everything from spas, restaurants and bars.

Is there anything sweeter than an ice cold drink a reasonable cost? And HELLO, Dubai Summer Surprise sales make shopping an absolute DREAM.

You CAN still exercise outdoors

Shock, horror.

Despite popular opinion, some sports still thrive throughout the summer, albeit you might want to set your alarm clock a little earlier than usual.

The popular Al Qudra racing track remains popular for cyclists, head out on a Friday/Saturday morning if you don’t believe me, while early morning wake boarders still manage to get a surf in all summer.

There’s so much to do

It’s pointless to even begin the limitless list of cool stuff to do indoors in Dubai. So we’ll do a brief round up:

This summer, check out IMG Worlds of Adventure, the world’s largest indoor theme park, any of the epic escape rooms, quirky cafes, new restaurants, Dubai Opera, La Perle… you get the drift.

Use this summer to try something you’ve never tried before.

Guaranteed sunshine.. and air conditioning everywhere

Forget drizzle and cloudy days; while it may be hot, the sunshine DOES make it easier to hop out of bed every morning, and don’t forget that practically everywhere has AC.

And last but certainly not least…

It’s okay to sweat!

No need to worry that your upper lip is a permanent puddle or that it looks like someone poured a drink on your under arms…

No-one’s above a bit of perspiration!
